Vacations with Kids

Research Method

Each year approximately 1,000 visitors to our Website provide ratings of destinations and add their travel experiences to our database. These respondents represent a nationwide sample of households with children that have taken an overnight family vacation, at least 50 miles from home, in the last 12 months.

Respondents provide the ages of their children, number of nights they stayed, and complete the survey that appears on the Rate a Destination page of this Website. These vacationers rate the destinations they have visited on six key areas which influence a family's travel decisions, and they share their comments and suggestions

  • Quality of accommodations measures how well the facility where you stayed met the needs of your family.

  • Quality of activities measures how well the activities at the location met the needs of your children.

  • Dining options measures the variety of restaurant choices close to this location.

  • Value measures the perceived value for the dollars spent on the vacation.
  • Likely to return measures the likelihood that you will come back to this location.

  • Recommend indicates whether or not you would recommend this location to other families.

When at least three ratings are provided on a specific destination or property, the ratings are averaged and this information is included in our Searchable Database. Next to the name of each destination you will find the current number of families who provided ratings.

To our knowledge, VacationswithKids.com is the only website of its type with actual ratings of vacation destinations from families like yours. We hope you will use this information to help plan your next family vacation. Please bookmark this site, so you can return easily and share your vacation experiences with other families like yours.
